We are still singing…CHOIR REHEARSALS may have been cancelled during the coronavirus outbreak, but we have been continuing rehearsals very successfully online.
We know how important music groups are to the people in them. It goes beyond the music, and is as much about social connections, wellbeing and shared creativity – all of which have been hit hard by coronavirus (COVID-19). Therefore, until we can meet in person again, we are still staying in touch with each other and making music online.
If you are looking to get involved in a choir and are interested in joining our online sessions until we can meet in person, you would be very welcome. No audition required. Just get in touch for more information via firstname.lastname@example.org
Virtual Christmas Concert 2020 – We sang our Christmas concert together via Zoom with our MD, accompanist and a representative of each SATB part socially distanced in the church. It was a great success and we received some lovely comments from our virtual audience:
I really enjoyed that and so great to sing and hear you singing in a church!! What a lovely thing to do – I will never take singing together with others for granted again x
There were some lovely arrangements and songs I had not heard before – Very inspirational too – something we could do with our choir next Christmas!
Beautiful harmonies and fun (but difficult!) anagrams! Seems like a lovely choir to be part of.
Many thanks for the fabulous (virtual) concert tonight. Really enjoyed the evening and it was pretty obvious everyone else did as well!
Thank you for allowing us to attend your concert via Zoom. It was a very enjoyable experience and brought some light to this unusual Christmas.
Lymm and District Chorus was formed in 1990. We are a thriving well balanced mixed-voice choir, based in Lymm, Cheshire, attracting enthusiastic amateur singers from Lymm and the surrounding area. At any one time the choir numbers approximately 70 members.
We sing a variety of music ranging from classical oratorio to popular song and musical theatre. We aim to support both local and national charities (nominated by choir members) through the proceeds from our concerts.
Everyone is welcome. You just need to love singing! You do not need to be able to read music and there is no audition. We are an enthusiastic group and we strive to improve and learn new repertoire. For many of us, Wednesday evening is a highlight of our week.
